Angelini Group

The President

Francesco Angelini was born in 1945.
After graduating from university with a degree in pharmacy in 1968, Francesco Angelini began working for the family company, and he has been President of the Angelini Group since 1993.

He has spent his entire career with companies in the Angelini Group, and over the years has held diverse roles of increasing responsibility in many different business areas of the Group, both in Italy and abroad.
He set up the Iberian operations, collaborating personally in the creation and development of the Spanish and Portuguese pharmaceutical companies.

In Italy, Francesco Angelini spent some time as the head of Fater (the Lines brand), consolidating its leadership and, in 1992, bringing it into the joint venture with Procter & Gamble (Fater is now market leader in the health and hygiene sector, with the Lines and Pampers brands).
Francesco Angelini is responsible for building up the core pharmaceutical business over the years, and for spearheading Angelini's internationalisation process.

Francesco Angelini has three daughters and is a great lover of football and bridge. Himself a member of the Italian national bridge team, his "Team Angelini" has won a number of important international competitions.
On 2nd June 2003, the National Holiday celebrating the Anniversary of the Italian Republic, Francesco Angelini was appointed Cavaliere del Lavoro (an honour for exceptional service in industry and other occupations) by the President of the Republic, Carlo Azeglio Ciampi.
